I am the proud owner of an 03' S3. This is my first time on the site and have enjoyed learning from troubles others have endured. Are there any strong opinions on what mirror upgrades are best in performance and style? I am so pleased with everything else on the bike.

Hey there K3- I'm new here as well and have an 03 S3 also. Mine has the CRG bar end mirrors and I am very pleased with these. At first sight I thought they were too small but after riding with them they are actually quite good. They look cool too!

I have also ditched the stock mirrors on my 05 S3. They were usless anyway. Bought some Motrax bar ends now I can see everything behind me. Since this photo was taken I have turned the left hand side mirror mounting upside down although there is a bolt in there it just looks neater that way.

Kevin,

I have a pair of these babies: http://www.bikepro.com/products/mirrors/cateyemir.html

I got mine on Ebay for wicked cheap (like $5 per). The fit very well and visibility is pretty good (far better than stock), but i do have to lean my wrist over to get a full view, i have them below the bar, above the bar they might be alright.

heres a pic:

I'm not a big fan of the placement and size of the bar-end mirrors, so I took a page out of SlvrSurfr's book and went with a pair of mirrors from Monstrack:

Monstrack Mirrors

The build quality of the mirrors is phenomenal and they look great. Because the mirrors are a little lower and stick out farther than the stockers, they work better too. Given the fact that a pair of these costs close to what a pair of CRG bar-ends cost, you can't go wrong.

The owner of the company, Kevin Kachuck, is a real stand-up guy. He made sure that I didn't get hosed on the shipping to Canada and was great to do business with. Make sure that you select "Triumph" and "both right hand threads" if you decide to order on their website.

I wish I had pictures to show (other than the ones on the Monstrack website), but after trying out the mirrors on my bike, they went back into the box and will be waiting for me under the tree this year. SlvrSurfr has some pics in his photo album, I believe.

Excellent choice. The Rizomas are beautiful to behold up close, are very well built, and give good visibility. Too bad the old addage definitely applies to these, "You get what you pay for."
