I am looking for a great pair of water proof gloves, has anyone had any luck after riding for over and hour in pouring rain?

Please help!

Thanks!

I bought some neoprene hunting gloves in black whilest slumming at The WalMart. They insulated well and kept my hands dry. I bought them large enough to fit over my teknic chicane riding gloves (as neoprene would offer no protection and may melt onto the skin in a slide) however they made my hands too bulky so I returned them.

My understanding is that most any glove will eventually leak, I'm going to install grip heaters for next season--warm and wet is better than, uhmm, a cold shower...

I guess I'm not really much help...

I bought some over gloves that, in essense, are extra large Playtex things. I believe from Aerostitch.

Firstgear Hipora Thinsulate gloves are excellent in weather down to around 40F. Any colder than that and your hands will still freeze, but at least they'll be dry.

Rain is a Dutch speciality. I ride in the Netherlands and we have plenty of it.

I have both winter and summer waterproof gloves. Both from Dainese and I never get any leaking even in really heavy downpours. The key point is ensuring they have wrist bands that you can tighten that stops water running down your jacket arms into the glove necks.

The Dainese gloves I use are from goretex material.

Thanks!

I will check them out. I have tried 4 different brands including Triumph's new waterproof gloves and I got soaked within 30 minutes.

I've never owned a pair of gloves that would tighten enough to keep the rain out and still allow the blood to flow to my hands The trick is to buy gloves that fit underneath the sleeves of your jacket, so that the water can't run down the cuffs of the glove. I've used a pair of Alpinestar Twist gloves for the last 2 winters and kept pretty dry - unfortunately the gloves are no longer available, but any decent make textile glove with a goretex lining should be fine.

I'm still looking for a pair of trousers that keep my bollocks dry after riding in a downpour though

Those Dainese gloves with the titanium knuckles look sweet. I might just have to get an extra pair of cold weather gloves...

www.outdooroutfittes.com has Thinsulate lined seal skin gloves. They will not, however, protect you from a blow to the head with a club.
