I have a question about engine oil. I'm getting ready to put the bike away for another Canadian winter. When I went to buy oil and a filter for my S3 the owners handbook states I should use 15W/40 Semi. My dealer advised that I should use 10W/40 Semi. (This is what I used in my 01 Bonnie). What are you using? Will 10w/40 be O.K.?
Further, My local dealer dose not have 15w/40 in stock and he is a Triumph dealer. The shop mechanic advised that this is what they put in my bike for the first service and is still is the bike now.
I have used 10W40 in a V-Twin for cold weather and 20W50 for warm weather. That seems to work pretty well. I suspect it would work well on a I3 just as well.

My hand books always said Mobil 1 Racing 4T Always used it in Triples with no problems, I put Semi in the Aprilia because full synthetic can cause clutch issues.
somebody shoot me now! :2guns: I got tired of hearing so many different stories on the oil, so now.... I just don't use oil, mine's been dry for 2600 miles! :wow: :hihi: :knkknk:
