Triumph S3 Colour Palette

Last month when I wandered into the Triumph dealer I was quite surprised at the restricted choice of colours on offer for a new S3.

There was black or white or red and that's your lot - take it or leave it. No iconic S3 bright green, no 'Imperial Purple' like Rigsy managed to wangle.

At least I was spared the offer of a Nappy (diaper) post-Vindaloo Yellow.

Come to think of it - I would happily have paid a premium to have some additional 'factory optional colours'. Now I realise that production engineers don't like too many variables on a production line and Henry Ford offered even less choice on the Model T but maybe some customers like a bit more colour in their lives. Crystal white looks pretty good in a 'this season's fashion' kind of look but that Imperial Purple just looks so tasty, very very tasty .............

I don't understand why you would want any other color than black?

The S3 looks great in black - very traditional and classic look - but unfortunately in this part of the world, a black S3 makes you part of an anonymous herd of followers. I prefer to see a bit of innovation and imagination - we stopped viewing the world in silent, black and white many years ago. DieselGeek's suggestion is stimulating my thoughts right now ...........

No complaints here :-P I loved the red, black seemed to hide too much of the quirky style and body lines

I was just kidding around man. Seriously though, there are a lot of cool things you can do to make the bike your own and it is pretty easy to do paint since everything can be removed pretty easily and paint is not hard to do as long as you are careful.

....I still like the black.
