Hello, anyone there knows a good kit whereas you can remove the bugeye lights and put on a temporary fairing for track dayz? I am looking for such one so I can switch back ~n~ forth the fairing on the new Speed Triple.

This sounds like something I could whip up pretty easily.

One question, how do you just disconnect the cables from the bulbs and remove them from the buckets? Also, where would you tuck them, or should I also integrate something into the fairing to tuck the cables?

Why bother?

Will a 1/2 fairing give you that much more top speed? Faster lap times? A full racing fairing would be a more logical choice.

But you do need to take it off, bummer!

I would do a search on google first, perhaps the Italian racing Naked series might be another place to search.

Sounds interesting!

A full fairing isn't going to give you that much more top end on most tracks, but a half fairing will at least get some wind off your chest and give you something to tuck behind. My little Roadracing fairing let me go 10mph faster in a full tuck compared to no fairing.

With no fairing, the fastest I could get my 03 up to was 140ish. With the Roadracing fairing I can get it up to 150mph.

How'd you get 151 on an unfaired 02? Tailwind? Downhill?

Thanks for replying guys!

Only purpose to get a either a half fairing or full is protection against debris and the like. In addition to that, I want to remove street parts so I wouldn't worry about getting new parts after a crash (not that I want to really crash it, I ain't crash-happy). It's really expensive to replace the headlights and the like, so why not take it off, leave the wirings and plugs alone (just tape it up and hook them on the headlight's stalk or frame) and put the fairing on. Heck, I will take the turn signals off along with the mirrors. Only thing I probably have to tape up is the rear lights which is no biggie.

I am sure there's a lot of fairings out there and only reason I ask you guys if you have done it and want to know how do u put them on correctly. Where do you get the fairings from? Sharkskinz? I wondered a GSXR1000 Upper front fairing will look on a Speed Triple? Snazzy looking?
