OK, so I've lived with my 05 1050 for 3 weeks now, and thought I'd share a few moments and opinions of living with it. It's gold with the Triumph screen fitted.

Firstly, having been a Jap sportsbike guy to this point (RI 959 Blade, ZX10 etc) I can conclusively, undoubtedly say this bike is loads more FUN ! Riding position, torque and feeling like you are REALLY moving see to this. Never have I smiled so much.

Build quality is generally excellent with no major complaints. There are a few bits and pieces which could be and will be improved but nothing that could possibly spoil the overall pleasure this bike has brought me. I am a bit of a perfectionist and don't want to moan (enough of you do that already ;-) I'd rather just alter the odd bits to my taste.

1st service - had the TORS and map done. The most heavenly sound ever to come from a motorcycle. My personal favorite is to hold it at 4000 RPM and then nail it to 7000 RPM. In this range it sounds absolutely awesome, it really turns heads !! Too good to be true, if you are considering doing it, just get on with it ! Don't go the aftermarket route because you spoil the look, I've yet to see any better than stock in the looks department.

Also fitted Renthals Button High bars. A couple of inches higher than stock and they feel/look great. Needed to change the front brake lines but that was all.

Going to take the rear guard off this weekend (if I can stop riding) and make a bracket for the plate.

I've seen posts from guys on this site asking what it's like, undecided between S3 and a Monster etc. If you are considering buying one just do it, it's the best money I've spent on a bike, and by a long way. I've had over 20 top sports bikes but none were even close to the fun of this thing. Top, top bike.

Finally, thanks to all the guys on this site for all of your help which comes thick and fast when you have a problem !
