How many miles? First time I hear of such a thing on a new bike, so most likely a fluke, but still $ucks; it's a major repair. Probably too 'old' to ask for a new bike, huh? Make sure the bike is like new when they're done.

Yes, there are quite a few 1050 riders who have a leaking head gasket on their bikes. Most have the leak/weep at the front right corner of the head.

Mine is actually in the shop right now for the same reason. Has been for the last month or so.

Yeah, nothing new under the sun. Mine leaked also. They swapped the gasket with some sealant and it leaked even more than before. Triumph refused to give a new engine and they ended up trading the bike into a new one under warranty.

Man, so it's more common than I thought; just never read about it here... and I've been reading everything lately. But what's the story? This is the 2nd year of production, and still the same problem?
Nothing new to me. It soulds like the problem with my BMW K1200RS: a leaky timing cover. And yes, after building the same darn engine for 6 years, and the same basic engine for over 20, they still leak. I got it fixed under warranty, and started leaking again, so I'll have to fix it myself when I inspect the valves at 12K miles. At least it's much easier to fix than a head gasket, but still hard to believe such a problem can't be corrected in SIX years.

Thanks for the heads up guys. This doesn't scare me, but one more thing to consider since I'm 300 miles away from dealer. Will check the demo for that oil leak. I'm leaving tomorrow at 6am; will know in the evening if S3 or Duc S2R 1K. Take care.
