Okay, my chain is very loose. I tried to adjust the chain, but I cant move the thing anymore. Is there a limit that the little adjustment thingy wont move anymore? Or am i not doing it the right way? I can loosen the chain, but cannot tighten anymore.

I probably need a new chain, so I might just get another chain and sprockets, and go 1 down on the front, and 1 up in the rear for street riding.

Sounds like you need a new chain.

I think your gearing is 18/43 stock. If you go to a 45 T on the rear, you will love it. I did that, and added a 19 T, but have the 18 to use if I want. I got a DID 530 XM , 110 links.

hey speed3, I don't understand your gearing choice.... Is that not almost a complete washout by increasing the rear by 2 teeth(acceleration) and increasing the front by 1 tooth(top end)??? Sorry, I just don't understand how you can tell much of a difference. If anything, I would think you're geared a little higher, not lower.

so, anyone know if there is a limit on how much you can adjust the chain?

I will probably do the 18/45 combo.

I went to 18/45 because everyone said how great it is, and I thought the stock gearing was too high. I liked it around town, but put the 19 on for trips and left it. It is a bit lower ratio than stock, but the cool thing is, I can throw the 18 back on with a chain adjustment. The reason I didn't go with a 17 is the accelerated wear of the rubber S/A protector that people reported.
