Because of the wonderful "shoulder/elbow view" the stock mirrors provide, I am going to replace them with bar end Napoleons. any helpfull hints at removing the bar end weights and the such before I dig in?

Loosen the barend weight, then tap on it lightly with a hammer. It should come right off. The interior of the bar has a blockage an inch or so into the bar tube. You may have to shave down the rubber on the mirror to get it to go in all the way.

I had to use channel locks to get my bar-ends off. They were stuck tight!

If you haven't already done so, you can tape the bar ends (to protect the finish) and then use the vice grips to twist it loose and off.
