Purely out of interest, what kind of top speeds have you guys got out of your S3's?
I have been scanning the threads, some have quoted 130mph, some less, some more. apparently one guy has a "turbo S3" and has hit over 155mph. It isn't a bragging thing, I am just curious. I love my S3, and most guys I ride with love the way it looks, but they always ***** away on the straights......not that that concerns me, because I always smoke them in the curves. Straight line riders don't impress me, or most decent riders, I just like to push the envelope.

I've done 120 to date with a significant amount of room left on the tach. I'm thinking 140 easy, maybe more... :-D

Geof3, not bad mate. I was a little surprised when Triumph said it had a "tested top speed" of 145mph. Last week, I got 155mph out of mine. I was red lineing at 10k, and the indicator light came on to change gear, but I had no more gears! Like I said, this isn't about bragging, I am just interested to see what we can squeeze out of these puppies!

145 but I've have not had enough road to work on it, just quick run it up and back off. Anywhere straight enough around here is either to filled with cagers or cops or both.

My buddy just got an 06 GSXR 1000 and has not yet figured out just how bad that bike would spank my S3 on top end, actually he is behaving himself. Here is a link to the first ride with the video camera just this last weekend between rain showers. When we hit the tunnel I wick it up to 145. How many times will you get to see an S3 leave a GSXR? (only because he didn't try). http://download.snowboardseattle.com/ then Grab "mototest.wmv"

Cheers,
JB

Not interesting for me, the top speed of my bike. If it was, I would buy a yakasuzi or so
But I rode 200 km/h (125 mph) on the Assen track

i think mine is drag limited to whatever 9.5-9.7 is on the tach in 6th. my speedo has been broke since i got the bike not to mention a motorcycle speedometer is about as accurate as a saddle dynometer but i would guess thats about 140-150. it's definately a different experience without a windscreen.

135 indicated. Thought I was gonna lose my head. Quick runup, and back off.

JB - sneakly little mini wheelie too. Nice music.

How did you find the screen? does it remove some of the wind blast?

Cheers
