Hey Guys, quick question. I went out to start my 06 Spd Triple today and it doesn't seem to want to turn over. Everything lights up and the fuel injection sets but when I hit the start but it just cranks once and quits, then resets again. I checked the fuses and have it on a battery charger right now hoping thats all it is but wanted to know if anyone else has had this happen. Shouldn't it crank over more than once if I remember correctly. I haven't started in about a week so I am hoping its just the battery. Which is strange also because it only has 15 miles on it. I still haven't got to ride the dang thing because of my shoulder injury but I like to start it up and let it run once in a while. Maybe I am just an idiot and missing something but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Never start your bike if you're not going to ride it at least 10 miles. I'm sure you've noticed the amount of water dripping from your tailpipes in the morning, especially when colder. If you don't run the bike for a while, all of that stays INSIDE your engine and exhaust, eventually rusting everything. It's much better to leave it alone than start it without riding. Just put it on a battery tender every 2 weeks, and put fuel stabilizer if you don't ride frequently. I put it on my bikes since day 1, because sometimes it stays in the garage for a month; I never know.
Good to hear your problem was resolved.

You should purchase a Battery Tender Plus, which you can leave connected indefinitely and won't overcharge your battery. And you won't have to keep running the bike.

Plus if you get an accessory socket (for heated vests and whatnot), you can charge the battery w/o even removing the seat. All it takes is a plug adapter to get the juice from your charger to the socket.

i have one of those, and it works like a charm. just tuck the lead wire under the seat and go.
