For anyone looking for a reasonably priced set of aftermarket rearsets, I recommend these from Valter Moto. I took a chance and ordered them sight unseen, and it paid off. I fitted them today between rides, and I came away impressed.

The fit and finish is nice. A nice place to start if you are going the "blacked out" route. It is a gloss black, so it doesn't have the factory matte finish. It doesn't stand out as much as the flash photos above would have you think.

The pegs are mounted about an inch back and up from the stock location, but it's not cramped at all. Sitting on the stand with one stock and one Valter Moto rearset mounted, I couldn't really feel a difference. While riding, I can tell my legs are slightly higher, but by no means uncomfortable. (on my ZX-6R, an inch back and up was the difference between fairly comfortable and charliehorse cramped)

Installation was a breeze (except for running out of Loctite halfway through  ). There are no instructions, but it's pretty easy to figure out (or maybe it's because I've mounted dozens of rearsets before). This is the first set I've mounted that didn't require cutting the brake reservoir hose or moving the reservoir. A very simple and smooth installation. I did need to rotate the shift arm a few teeth aroung the transmission shaft. There is plenty of flexibility her to switch to a GP-style reverse shift pattern if you desire.

CONS: Just some nitpicks, but here's what I've noticed so far:

There is no provision for a rear brake light switch. Probably not too hard to rig something, but I don't care that much.

No mounting points for the heel guard on the left side. Probably could be rectified with a drill and and a tap and die set.

Look at the brake pedal in the last photo. Notice that the arm bends up. If you ride with your toes tucked in to the bike like I do, you may find yourself catching your toe on the lever when aiming for the peg. I know, another nitpick.

No rear brake return spring. Not necessary from a function standpoint, but you do lose a some rear brake feel. Well, not really, but you will need to recalibrate your braking foot. I got to play supermoto today when I pressed a little too hard while trail braking into a corner. It was almost fun, but only because it's a Speed Triple. I would've surely crashed if I was on a race-rep.

So if you want a nice set of solid footpegs, don't want to spend $500, and don't need adjustable mounts or lots of bling, feel these rearsets are well worth the $250-ish I spent on them.

They look good Mark. I wonder why they left the heel guard off the left side.

I am long in the leg (6'3"), and I think that I might feel the fact that they sit a little higher, especially on a long day in the saddle.

Is the finish anodised or powder coated?

Anodized. If you look close to photo #3, you can see wrench marks on the shifter rod. Oops.

Don't worry. This winter the bike will go through a thorough de-stickerizing. I've been too busy riding to mess with little things like stickers and dirt.
