There isn't an entry for pre '02 bellypans on triumph's website... is it the same part as the '02-04s?

I don't know if the '02 body panels will fit previous years. Sky King in San Diego has a belly pan for pre '02 S3s.

No luck on the Skyking site, most of his bodywork for the S3 seems to be out of production (I emailed him about the roadrace flyscreen a while back and he doesn't do that any longer).

What I meant to ask was whether or not the chin fairing from a <2002 is interchangeable with the chin fairing on a 2002+?

Pre 2002 models have a different guage cluster than the '02's and beyond so the fly screens are not compatible. The mounting method is totally different. In addition, Triumph never produced a pre 2002 bellypan. The '02 and beyond belly pan can be made to work, but it requires modification of the bracketry and maybe even the belly pan itself. It is not a simple swap for either of these items.

The bellypan from a pre '02 Sprint can be modified to fit the S3. I was going to do it, but decided my bike looks better without one.
