Howe well do they work ? Is the install process a pain ?

The way to attach them is to use silicone or trim adhesive. They would have to be painted black, IMO because they are pretty ugly.

Frame sliders are cheaper, even though expensive, and certainly look nicer.

I've never seen a bike with these installed that hadn't obviously been down. They're like a badge that says "I dropped it."

I think people would be more likely to use them if they were in Carbon Fiber instead of Kevlar. The yellow tinge is kind of a turn off.

Speaking form experience of sorts, I can tell you that even WITH frames sliders the motor still gets grinded down on a slide/drop.

I have dropped my bike, just being stupid
I have sliders and the clutch casing got scratched up.

I think the covers would have prevented that....but then you will need to replace the damaged cover.

Couldn't find any updated pics of my bike but here is one with CF goodies showing.

The place I bought them from in England seems to no longer carry them.

Alright, thanx for the replies. THe yellow doesnt bother me really. Ive seen the CF stuff before and figured that it wouldnt last in a crash ! Im not impressed with the whole high temp silicone thing to keep them on. It doesnt seem like a permanent solution.

Mine haven't fallen off after 8 months in all weather conditions having them on. I haven't tested their protective capabilities yet since I haven't dumped or dropped the bike, but I've heard from other people with first-hand experience that they are actually quite slick when the bike slides along the road on them.

Mostly, they're a cosmetic mod if you're going for the CF motif.
