You can order the parts from the dealership, they'll cost you $191 for everything to rebuild the calipers. It's a pain in the ass and I'm sick of having the lever hit my other fingers under hard braking around town. Triumph North America needs to get off their ass and start covering this under warranty.

Hey Sprinklerhead, which number do you have your lever at?
I'm about to buy one, and am afraid the issue hasn't been resolved yet.
I always ride with 2 fingers covering the brake, and even though I most likely will use the furthest adjustment (4?), I still might hit my other 2 fingers.
On the other hand, I might buy the bike provided the dealer does the caliper rebuild, but I bet they'll refuse since they have to prove there's a problem first, huh? :hammer:

I can still brake with only two fingers(only way I know how), but there's a fair bit of travel in the lever before the brakes grab. Once they grab they're great. I have my lever on the farthest out setting. I'm currently waiting on new brake pads to come in, when they do I'll pull the calipers and grease the pistons myself.

This is interesting, I took my bike to the dealer (Ongar) and after 20 mins with it they said there's nothing wrong with'em... Cutting it short I went to the bike pulled the lever and it's perfect! All they did was cleaned the discs they said. Whatever they did, the brakes are fab now. A friend of mine with an 05 S3 has perfect brakes and says mine are better now.

It's now dialled in at no.4 and I mostly use just my index finger for normal braking. It's almost all I can do to close the lever against the bar with full grip. Fingers crossed for the next few weeks...

Something interesting guys... The Sprint has Nissin calipers but they are not the radial calipers that we have. The article mentioned the lever had a bit of throw but mentioned the brakes were stellar overall. So, my point is, it is not a problem with just our brakes. In fact, I'm not really sure it truly is a "problem". I think it's a bit nitpicky on some peoples part. I still argue that these brakes will stop you in a heart beat even with the "excessive" throw. NO one talks about pulling the handle when riding. Only static, which doesn't count really.

Now, I'm not saying there aren't some out there that have a problem... but I REALLY think that if Triumph had a real and significant problem with something as MAJOR as bad brakes, they would be all over it. Talk about ruining a good thing!! :hammer:

When I or the dealer bleed the brakes you can set the dial to 4 and not pull the lever back to the bar. After time they hit the bar and you move the dial to 3, after awhile they hit the bar and you move the dial to 2, notice a pattern?.... when set on 1 and they hit you bleed again.

I would not call this normal, would you?

The jacked up part is that I for one like my lever on 3 or 4 as that works best for my 2 fingers.
