Ok, current OEM battery was going flat so took the chance to order a standard Shorai battery (LFX14A1-BS12)for my 08 speedy.
For those of you that have one already is there anything i need to know (tips?) about installing this battery which i think is significantly smaller than the standard one.
Thanks
Kel
Anybody taken advantage of the extra space? For instance fit the Shorai laterally and enlarge the storage area, or build a little tray on top or below for storage? Pics would be appreciated.

I plan to use the left-over space to carry documents and a small tool kit (neither of which I currently carry since my bike came with the plastic rear seat hump instead of a pillion seat, as well as had the rear fender modded by the original owner to accommodate a Wolf underseat exhaust). You could also use the space to mount accessories like an alarm system, to carry a brake disc lock... all sorts of things.

Thx ppl,Battery arrived today, fast delivery and was dead set easy to install with the packing foam supplied and a big plus how easy the terminal bolts are to connect with the foam at the bottom of the screws, man sure beats the old way lol
Yes mine now takes up a similar space with all the foam to help the bungee keep the battery tight, ppl fyi the shorai battery dimensions are 66mm deep,148mm length and 105mm height, compared with standard battery size of 86mm deep,148mm length, and 130mm height. And of course an 810gm weight vs 3.4kg lol
