Wondering if you've been riding in the rain at all ?There's two things that have worked for me, whether they will for you I don't know - the 1st is to clean all the connections to your coils -I believe # 3 coil has some kind of link back thru to the igniter and back to the tach - if you have a bad connection/corrosion there that might have some detrimental affect. The 2nd is up in the head light wiring mess under some shrink tubing is a little circuit board. I had an issue with my Tach back in 95 in Florida after a rain storm.... anyway by disconnecting my battery and with some contact cleaner and a nylon brush I cleaned up all the solders on that board where the water had got to it, removing all the electrolisis corrosion for want of a better expression - and she worked again. The coil trick has since worked 5 or 6 times - a dealer told me about that one - the 2nd I figured myself -but you might try calling Mickey at Orange co Triumph about the coil deal -otherwise take your bike to the best Trumpet dealer in your area is my advice! Good luck
