Compliments on your Speed Triple

On holiday this year in Germany with my brother and a mate, while me and our mate were in a hotel reception checking prices my brother stayed outside with the bikes, (my Sp3R, his V4 Tuono and an RC8). A boy comes up to him and asks if he can take a picture, 'of course' he obliges and steps aside. The boy takes a photo of just my bike and walks off! Priceless:-)

Picked up the bike at the shop today. Jumped on it and started it up. The mechanic stopped what he was doin walked over to where I was and said, "man I'm really envious of that machine!"

I was parked at the bank, taking care of some business. When I came out an elderly lady was standing next to my Speedie, clearly in awe, slowly shaking her head. I walked up and said hello. She looked at me and smiled, then looked back at the bike and said "That's the most beautiful motorcycle I've ever seen".

Yeah, really.

While being cited for passing over a double-yellow centerline, the officer asked me the make and model of my bike.

"Triumph Speed Triple", I said.

"Oh ****!", he exclaimed. "That's awesome! And very appropriate, too. You were hauling back there!"

He let me go for doing 90 in a 50, but gave me a ticket for passing in a no-passing zone.



When he was done, he said, "Beautiful bike, but please wait for the passing zones."

A couple of nights ago as I was pulling into the Chevron station this cute girl in a car stuck her head out the window and shouted "I like your bike!"

I rode a R1 with M4 exhaust home one day and parked, and my neighbor came down and was horrified thinking I had traded in my Speed Triple! She was extremely relieved when I explained I was borrowing it for work.

Borrowing a BMW S 1000 RR atm and have had a fair few people asking whether it is mine! Doesn't have the S3's style but what a machine. Doesn't get 1/10th the looks the S3 does.

Where do you work that you are just getting all these bikes to play with?

Man, this thread is full of great stories... I really need to paint my bike.

Had a guy asking me about my Speedy this morning - asking if its brand new, what size engine etc... says to me he loves how neat the exhaust system is (still running stock), how compact the bike is and how the "minimalist" look is really attractive.

Afterwards tells me his Ducati Multistrada 2012 model is in to have an Arrow exhaust fitted - all the while he couldnt stop staring at the Matte Black beast that is the Speed Triple!

I seem to get one of two comments;

"What kind of bike is that?" or "OMG I love Speed Triples!"

I've had all kinds of stares when riding and all are like "Nice Bike". Even Harley riders will do double takes and you know how they think that Harley"s are the only bikes in existence LOL.

On another note I took a picture of me and a girl I have been dating while out riding this past Sunday. It got posted on Facebook and my buddy who set me up with this girl texted me and said, "When did you get a damn Triumph". I told him when and asked, do you think its ugly or what? He never answered yes or no but said one of his buddies used to have one and he rode it and liked it. I gather he doesn't like the looks but said he liked riding the S3. Some peeps just don't have taste lol.
