I would be interested to hear opinions, suggestions and comments on this topic guys. It is a problem that plagues us all, being pulled by the fuzz is never a good thing, especially when you ride a bike the way it is supposed to be ridden. I know, I can hear some of you saying it "go to a track and ride like that"......well, not all of us have the money or the access to a track. So we should arm ourselves against such terrible happenings, and be able to relax and enjoy our two wheel time without provocation, without worry or concern, without being carted off in the back of a patrol car on a beautiful Sunday morning when we should be riding..........Let me know what you have to say guys. It could be my next purchase.

IMHO they are useless! Much better to look ahead, and drive with caution.

I have to much agree with the previous post . A good radar detector when used along with a LIITLE BIT of idiotic driving (not being a wild @ass and endagering people on the road) works well. I sometimes use a Valentine one with the option motorcycle remote heaphone jack and volume. It comes in very handy BUT if I were to depend on it solely I would be rolling in tickets. Keeping my eyes open and good judgment about where and when I speed works better than a radar detector most times.

CLIFF NOTE:
In a car it is easier to watch a radar detector, but there are TOO many things to watch out for at one time. This makes the radar detector MUCH less effective on a bike.

Pretty much the kind of response I deserve I guess. Don't get me wrong, with the standard of driving we experience in this country, I absolutely do scan ahead, as far ahead as I can, because drivers in the U.S. are brain dead. As for endangering others on the road......I only endanger myself when I ride. I may be a little quicker than necessary, but I am as safe as I can be on a crotch rocket. Besides, if we were all responsible pillar of the community types, we wouldn't be riding Speed triples now would we????!!!!
I just thought that given the power these beautiful bikes have, I would like to try and avoid any more tickets than I already have (one so far) had.

I use a Escort Passport 8500 with an amplified speaker so I can hear it at speed, with earplugs.
Wouldn't ride without it.
Has saved me many times.
