I personally like the front sliders, they add to the over all roguish look of the bike. Being that they are black they are dont stand out.
I agree, as soon as my PayPal verifies I'm going to order some!

After measuring my bike (2004) the LHS frame slider would have to be 1 1/2" shorter than the RHS frameslider in order for them both to stck out the same amount! Let me explain:

Their are 2 mounting "ears" on the front of the engine. On the RHS the engine mounting "ear" bolts to the inside of the frame; whereas on the LHS the mounting "ear" mounts to the outside of the frame. These "ears" are 1 1/2 inches wide (hence the LHS frame slider needing to be 1 1/2" shorter). The radiator (and therefore turn signals) are mounted along the centre line of the bike, and therefore in order to have both frame sliders stick out the same distance from the frame and in relation to the turn signals that LHS slider must be 1 1/2" shorter.

Or... the dealer really fXXX'd up assembling my bike!

Can anyone confirm that the Skyking sliders are not both the same length? Also, what are their lengths? M12 boltsl, right?

My new sK sliders Item 116B are as follows: left side is 85mm alum hex.
The right side is a 50 mm alum hex with the black plastic parts being the same length approx 3" . The right side is inside the turn signal and the left side sticks out beyond the turn signal, The'06 bike has a steel guard bar on the right bottom below the radiator to protect it. They use M10 bolts and M12 washers and locking nuts. Nice set up it just looks odd. asymetrical if you will--

Hey Surfr, if you could only have ONE set of sliders, which ones do you think protect the bike better, with more emphasis on zero-speed tip-overs?? Two on each side is too much for me, so yes, I'll sacrifice form for function a bit.
And don't somebody sell those things all anodized black? They'd stand out even less. I'm thinking the rear ones look better and are more protective, but I'll trust your answer much better. Thanks man.

That size of hex bushings makes perfect sense for the pre 2005 Triples...if the 50mm aluminium hex was installed on the LHS of the bike (onto the engine mount which is attached to the outside of the frame) and the 85mm was installed on the RHS (onto the frame) then both sliders would stick out equidistant from the frame! Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

By the by, SkyKings install instructions (PDF on his website) state that the aluminium hex bushings are both 70mm long, which is why I thought that his sliders would look odd with the LHS one sticking out 1 1/2" further.
