Hi guys,

just a quick note to say that my company Mototwin will soon start stocking parts for the 1050 speed triple. I will start with parts from LSL like clip ons rear sets etc but hope to be making a few parts too.

Please let me know what parts you would like and I will try and source them.

The Mototwin website has around 180 parts for the new triumph twins and I would like to do something similar for the speed triple.

We have purchased a new speed triple to try all the parts that we put on the site and to help us develop our own parts. This bike will eventually be available for customers to demo after we have put some parts on it.

I would be really interested to get your feedback and ideas, whatever you think.

Regards

Oliver Cole

For starters, how about Triumph's accessories at better prices... and better designed? I don't like the fly-screen that much, and neither the cowl. You can also fabricate a cheaper fender eliminator. I personally would like a different headlight system. Yeah, yeah, it might be a speed triple 'feature', but it's ugly and looks cheap IMHO. At least BMW's K1200R is ugly too, but less so, and doesn't look cheap at all. I prefer a round headlight like the Monster, but Triumph's price is ridiculous.
There you have a list for an owner-to-be. Oh, and don't forget the frame sliders. Cheers.

A better looking fly screen than the Triumph designed one would be nice.

Better looking and more functional for highway travel

How about some bungee net mounts/pegs? Someting that would bolt on with a black powdercoat...

How about...

a full exhaust system
improved coverage rear hugger
better fly screen
belly pans
fender eliminator

...just for starters. And I agree with the "cheaper than Triumph" opinion!

Make a simple and inexpensive fender eliminate kit and you'll sell tons of them. Everybody with a 1050 S3 want's one.

Quality frame sliders, both front and rear. If you can beat SkyKing's prices that would be fantabulous.

A rear grab rail that doesn't suck eggs and look like a Jr. High school shop class project would be nice.

Mirrors that don't suck. No Napoleons or CRGs because they're available everywhere already. If you can make a deal with Rizoma I'll let you marry my daughter. Heck, you don't even have to marry her.

Some kind of knee pads for the tank.

One of my pet peeves is the little bracket that attaches the oil cooler to the engine. It just looks cheap and kind of like an afterthought. I'm working on my own alternative, but I think you could sell these.

Alternative handlebars and risers.

Adjustable replacement brake and clutch levers. This has been discussed at some length here already.

Some way to lower the passenger pegs!

If you can't come up with a nice and attractive wind screen then don't bother. The world doesn't need another ugly Windjammer style fairing on a nice bike.

And, while we are dreaming, how about a Brembo Brake upgrade kit, including Calipers, brake lines, and radial master cylinder. All for about $200.

The fine print: I don't have a daughter.

A rear hugger that also protects the lower linkage suspension parts...
