I know that the whole point of the lip (at least accorrding to the magazine reviews) is to have the small amount of air flow allowed underneath the lip by the thick@ss velcro that it is attached with. But this velcro looked crappy to me, so I mounted it like shown. I found that the lip is just as effective as before, but in my opinon doesn't look so much as a afterthought. I think I may change to black bolts though.

How much of a difference in wind deflection have you experienced with the lip installed vs. the standard fly screen?

Personally, it has a "top hat" look that I just can't warm up to. I've been struggling with options and have even considered a different commuting bike for the 70 miles/day freeway ride I have. The S3 bugeyes look is cool but not so much when constantly battling the wind. Or I could just keep it below 80mph

When communting around town at speeds at 60mhph and below it keeps about 80% of the wind off of you. You get just enough to keep youfrom overheating.

above 60-70mph the windstream hits me on the top of the helmet and can cause some buffeting (I am 6'1" tall) if you a couple of inches shorter it would probably deflect a large portion of the air from your person.

But if you are "hauling@ss" it is GREAT to duck behind while romping on it!

Silversurfer likes it but his style is *cough* questionable *cough*
