Does anyone know the correct torque on the rear top engine bolts used to mount sliders on a '05 S3?
Thanks.

I don't have the instructions with me here at work but I can remember that the torque called for was a bit above finger tight so I said to hell with that and made them good and snug with my ratchet.

Unless someone can explain why they need to be so loose to where you would need to check them all the time due to engine vibration, road vibration, etc..

I just installed 4 of them on mine. My torque adjustments are SNUG. You may consider some Loctite as well.

I don't have my manual, but aren't engine mounting bolts usually pretty tight -- 60nm or more.

What sliders are you guys using and where are you mounting them? Any pictures?

OK. I have the Skyking sliders (41B) The instructions tell you to torque the shorter (left) to 25 pounds and the longer (left) to 45-62 pounds.

I ordered the Skyking sliders, but haven't installed them yet because of the following concern: The top front sliders stick out way beyond the radiator cover, which would subject them (and more importantly, the engine mount) to a lot of leverage if the MC went down. I've ordered some LSL sliders and will see what they're like. As an aside, I wish these sites were better organized in terms of tech info and after-market products. There's a lot of knowledge in this group and it would be nice to have organized access to it.

Thanks for the info.
As suggested the recommended torque settings came with the sliders. 25 pounds and the longer (left) to 45-62 pounds

About those LSL crash pads, arent they for the rear of the engine? Or can they go on the front mounts as well? Please post pic if/when you install them.

As for the SkyKing front mounts, I have the same concerns, perhaps the "pliability" of the black plastic slider absorbs the force that could subject the engine mount to enough energy to bend it? I dunno, just thinking out loud, I'm a layman after all not a mechanic. I did notice that they looked very very long, is the intent to protect the turnsignals also? Do they extend that far when mounted? Anyone have any pics?
