Found a 01 Daytona would like to swap the engine into my race bike, thought it might keep me busy over the summer break.
Pro's and Con's anyone?

Swap ECU & harness, headers.
Or strip it, use the crank, pistons & head for a rebuild?
Swap the race engine into your road bike (get to use the custom dyno map), put the 'Tona motor in the race bike, then you have a spare 1050 to tinker with

Don't see much point in the 01 Daytona engine Rob - 02+ sure, but wouldn't bother with the older one.

Same peak power but more torque on the 1050 (stock config #'s)

02+ however is 149 PS (vs 130) although peak torque slightly lower at 100Nm @ 8200 (vs 105 @ 5100)

It ended up going for 1500 bucks, it also looked like he had as friend bidding for him.

we were doing 2.24's and then 2.22's last couple

I was thinking of ways to be faster next year, the two obvious ones were weight and hp. I'd like some BST wheels but over budget at the moment so was thinking of some cams. I got onto racecomp in Adelaide who do cams but at 2k again over budget, and the increase was expected to be 150hp at the crank (assumption). I currently get 124 at the rear wheel which would equate to (just guessing here) 140hp at the crank so 2k for 10hp isn't economically viable.
Anyone got any other ideas that don't cost heaps.
