Sunline Shifter Mod

My linkage is shot on my bike right now and definitely thinking of this mod. Anyone know if this will work on some of the earlier models? I have a 1999 S3 955i

I found out tonight, the shifter sticks out far enough, the problem is it almost touches the foot peg, if I turn it around to where it points to the front, then it is too far away to shift.

Well it was worth a try and at least you can send it back in. I am sure there will be a creative solution soon enough.

I've got a 98 Daytona. Pretty sure our bikes shifter/frame/linkage bits are the same or very similar.

It does not fit my bike.

Just ordered the 48 part number for my 09. I cannot wait - but of course it's snowing now, so perhaps the timing could be a bit better...

Ok so likely if we get the same part number shifter it may not mount up. Bummer for sure.

Moose racing makes a steel shifter for the yz... I'm thinking I'm gonna try that next as it can be bent, cut, welded etc where the sunline unit, being cast aluminum, can't, as easily.

I did my oil change and had my first ride of Spring. (A very short ride as it was 7 degrees celsius), but damn this bike is fun.

I installed the part# 25-01-048 Sunline to my 2007 and it works like a charm. I can't say it is helping me find neutral any better, but upshifitng is really smooth. I just bought the bike used at the end of last Summer, so I think I'll figure it out eventually.

The shifter sits a bit closer to your foot than stock, someone with large feet may not like it, but my 9.5 feet fit perfectly. The copper look almost goes with my gold accents too.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their input, a really simple inexpensive worthwhile change for sure.
