The most immediately obvious problem with the std 05 S3 exhaust is the 1 - 2 branching before the cans. The right side pipe is on the outside line of a larger radius bend and gets the bulk of the gas flow. The left side is virtually non functioning.
That's what one would think by just using common sense and by looking at the split, but actually with TORs the left muffler seems to exhale noticeably more than the right one.

I have no idea why this is, but at least on idle and moderate revs with a cold engine and moisture in the cans this can be easily seen. Or if you just put your hand in the way of the exhaust gasses you will notice that the air pressure on the left is higher.
Are you SURE the LEFT muffler is taking on more gas???? That's definitely the opposite of what's happening on mine w/ Wolf cans. If you're correct, I think that would mean the Triumph TORs must be engineered so the right can is providing more flow resistance, forcing more gas to take the route on the left.

I am pretty sure, yes. At least on low revs that is. I have not really experimented with this that much, I just remember noting this just after I installed the TORs.

The TORs are pretty much just straight pipes, the left muffler being a mirrored version of the right. I have no idea if the muffler part pipe diameter is smaller than on the Wolfs.

I definitely have more gas coming out the right side. The right side muffler gets considerably hotter also. During a group ride Sunday several riders commented about how good the bike sounds when I open the throttle. They also commented there is blue flame emitted during deceleration, but from right side only.

I have the TOR map but am still running lean at 14/1.

No Brainer!

Get the new S3! and with the remaining money you were going to spend on the K1200r, find a used 1985 or newer BMW R80RT with hard bags. You will be able to tour all over!!!

On tight roads the S3 wil keep up with just about anything, if you want to cover a lot of distance every day the R80RT is a really good choice.

Take care!

PS Love your Swan Lager!!!
