Headlight replacement

There must be an automotive headlight that fits the S3. It is a 5 3/4" headlight using an H4 bulb (55/60Watt). Does anyone know offhand waht headlight part #/application it is?

Conversely, how much does Triumph charge for a replacement. Got a crack last month riding thru road construction (Caution, loose chips next 10 km).

Before shelling out the cash on a set of Adjure Ice headlamps go with a pair of Silverstars bulbs. I noticed a big difference over stock just by switching bulbs. PIAAs would be better, but I don't have that kind of money laying around to spend like $50+ per bulb.

I later went with the Adjure Ice headlamps and have to say they look a lot better than the stock 'frosted' lenses, although I didn't notice much of an improvement in light quality and spread. I think the frosted lenses help broaden the spread of light, but limits the distance of projection, while the Ice's have good intensity and distance, but sacrifice a bit of the spread.

Go with a set of Silverstars bulbs first. You can't beat the improvement at such a cheap price. Then, if you really want to swap out headlamps have at it.

just read some info on T595 net regarding this. The Osram Silverstars H4s are highly recommended by many and are 'plug & play' . here's a link provided by some fine bloke... $28 per set. i googled and could find only one other source for price comparo, but this seems a fair deal...

clickity click

today may be like christmas! :yayyy: a new scorpion slip-on and scorpion xo helmet should arrive!

Do you just need the lenses to do this conversion? I see a few listings for the lense only.

Let's bring this thread back to life ;)

I just got my 09 S3 and while washing it today I noticed 2 things:

1. One of the headlights got a rock or something and is chipped and cracked down the middle of the lens, anyone know where I can buy just the lens?

2. I noticed mist in the tail flashers. Anyone else had this problem?

Got a flat yesterday, and forgot my cellphone in the washer...what a great week. Maybe I should just go back to sleep until next monday.

Ice Headlights look fab.
My #1 mod if someone only made it.... Replace the thinly chromed headlight casings with a pair of HUGE 8 inch round HID lights in a carbon fibre housing. S-W-E-E-T!

Freight train comin at ya. Get out of the way.

If someone would make this, I would buy it. (even the stock size)

Sort of, ya; but that's taking it to the max. Man is that over the top - lot's of work went into that.

What is that bike (or, what was it)? It certainly is an all-new bike, what ever its origin.

Now that I see the idea taken to the max, I suppose, what I am really looking for are headlight replacements of similar size , with a carbon fibre housing (to replace the chrome), sporting a couple of HID lights.

I think that such a replacement kit would sell faster than you could make them.

Back on track

I now am looking for the sealed beam or lens if you will. I dont know what the correct term is. I have one completely missing and the other one has a small rock chip. Checked Bike Bandit 104.00 each seems a bit steep . I looked at Wagner lighting and Hella so far no luck . Other than the small bulb that fits in the back looks pretty similar to a regular sealed beam type conversion light . Someone had to make them for Triumph ?

Silverstar Ultra. Works super and won't melt the wires with excessive draw. Much much better than stock. Also, don't forget to re-aim. I raised mine and it made a big improvement.

As far as I can tell its a 5006 sealed beam conversion with a hole drilled in the back of it . Couldn't find any with the hole so may try and drill it. The difference is 25.00 to about 108.00 us more for me. the manufacturer of the housing is TYC based out of the UK apparently. But it says Taiwan on the lens with the Triumph insignia, Anyone have any other ideas ??????????
