Well, I received my "replacement" GP reservoir from Hooligan racing. A little smaller then the original, no window, and polished Titanium. Pics below...................what do you guys think????????

Very utilitarian, but without any way to check fluid level, I'd be a bit concerned. It is also very plain looking. Not something I'd pay over $100 for. Glad I found a Rizoma reservoir for $60 on ebay.

At least you got one Ken. They did contact me two days ago and offered me one of these (in black) to replace my leaking one or send mine in for rebuild. I said I'd take the GP one and asked what I needed to do next and I've once again heard nothing. Did you say they just shipped you this one before you sent your old one back Ken? Maybe that's what they are doing for me, who knows.

I think it looks pretty good but gotta agree the original hooligan one or the rizoma look better. Maybe I'll like it in black if I ever get it.

beers,

Possibly they have sent one out to you as they told me they would send me one and then it arrived. They did ask that when I install it (if I do????.....not quite sure i like it though!!!!) that I send the old back to them.

The original one is a much better looking and a more functional unit all the way around (i.e. site window).............plus the original one I got was the polished one and I like the look much better. The leak is very nil these days as I have loosened and retightened the site window screws and it seems to have stopped the leak for now. I may just hold out on replacing it and see if the leak has completely stopped then send them back the GP unit and say thanks anyways.....................as long as I am confident the leak has stopped that is most likely the route I will go. Otherwise I may wait until they have more of the original units (was told 2-3 months), then request an original replacement.

Anyways, hope they did send one out to you and I would like to see it in black. If you do get it maybe you could post up some pics.

Mine doesn't leak at all... yet. My dealer carries them, so I should be good to go if there were a problem. A thought I had was, perhaps you could put little O-rings on the screws. As long as they were good rubber, the brake fluid shouldn't break it down.

If the "GP" version were the only version available I wouldn't buy it. Don't like it at all. The normal version is much better. I had a Rizoma, but thought it might be too small, and the hooligan was a direct fit...

Hmm, you guys are right. The "old" looks better and has a sightglass. Since mine is leaking from the cap, I'll try a new gasket and see if that works. Maybe I should've just done that in the first place...

Got the new GP unit in shiny black (as opposed to Ken's tit unit) and I really like it. Yes, it is "plain" but I like that considering the stock plastic one is so ugly as to call attention to itself. I check fluids on a regular basis so the lack of a sight window is no big deal.

While not "trick" I really like the subtle yet classy look of this reservoir. Hooligan paid for shipping both ways and did not question my complaint.

I think a window is a must for level check.
That's why I bought this Rizoma one:
