Sargent Seat is Developing their World Sport Seat for the Daytona/Speed Triple. The seat should be available this summer for the 2002-2004 bikes. If you are interested contact them at RandD@sargentcycle.com

I don't know at this time. I think they can help you out with the price info. It will just be the front seat at this time I understand; and that is all I want.

the following is a reply I just received from Mark at Sargent. It sounds promising! I wish I didn't have to wait until summer for the seat though. I had a Sargent on my 2000 VFR and absolutely loved it. Much more comfortable and well made than any other aftermarket seat I've ever had on any of my bikes in the past too.

I'm pleased to inform you that we have acquired a Speed Triple and have completed an evaluation. Everything looks good to go for development of a World Sport front seat unit.

In this early stage, it's difficult to say exactly what the availability date will be, but we are shooting for Summer '04.

Look for a pre-registration discount program to start up in a few weeks. Details will soon appear on our web site. This program qualifies you for a discount (for a limited time) when the seat becomes available.

Hey;redsled: I know all about the wait. I have wanted a good seat since I got the bike. When my friends ride the bike they like it but wonder where the seat is. Perhaps with a good seat Triumph will sell more of these bikes. I would like to ride a few hundred miles without my butt talking to me. The Triumph gel seat is a waste or money as I bought one hoping it would do the job as nothing else was available.

I rode mine 350+ miles last Saturday and I was pretty comfy. But I agree that the seat is a hitch in an otherwise stellar ergonomic getalong. I have contacted Sargent (got the same response as redsled) and will buy a seat as soon as they are available.

I'm pretty new to this board, but I'm wondering if anyone can post a "news story" or whatever it's called. I get an email whenever there is a new story posted and considering that Sargent will be giving a discount for a limited time when the seats first become available, someone should post a "news story" for everyone to get.
