Well, the reservoir I purchased back in Feb 2005 sprung a leak in 2 of the window retaining bolts. Small slow leaks, but yet still leaks!!! I contacted Hooligan racing, got an immediate response and resolution. I have to say these guys are top notch when it comes to customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They don't have any reservoir's of the original type I purchased in stock (polished) and won't for about 3 months but, they said I could send in the old one and they will rebuild it for free and pay for shipping. I told them I don't have the original stock reservoir anymore and sending in the leaking one would cause a lot of down time for me. Then they said they could send me a new GP version that they just got in free of charge (smaller, lighter & no window). All they asked is that once I replace the old reservoir with the new GP one I send them the old one and they will credit me back for the shipping. Gotta say that is some top notch customer service!!!!!!!!!

Apparently the GP version comes in red, blue, titanium, black, gold and polished and all of the colors are polished as well, rather then matte like the previous versions. Anyways, I went for the polished one as that is what I originally purchased. Once I receive it I will post up some pics. To be honest, because of their quick and equitable response, I have no idea what the GP reservoir looks like but I am taking their word on it that it is pretty trick!!!!

I corresponded with Rich of Hooligan Racing and he was excellent. Apologized for the leaking unit, offered up a couple of options to rectify the matter and responded immediately!!!!!!!!! Man, I wish all of the vendors I delt with were this way about customer service................ :hammer:

Highly recommend these guys if your in the market for a nice, high quality replacement front brake reservoir. Mine may have leaked, but it was still a marked improvement over the crappy stock plastic one and these guys have the customer service to back their products and your not gonna get that at too many places these days!!!!!!!!

Thats awesome. Im glad to see a company that gives a ***** about their customers. Especially concerning a $110 peice of equipment.

I did not have the same luck. I am still waiting for my reservoir... I have left many phone calls to them with no return call. Please feel me in on who and when you contacted them?

Ken,

I gotta say that it doesn't really impress me. In this day and age, I guess it's good, but when you buy an expensive specialty piece like that I'd think you'd expect that they would have customer service like that.

Brake reservoirs are all these guys do. The fact that the only two people on this forum that seem to have them have had theirs fail is pretty appalling. Replacing it with a smile is the least they could have done in my opinion.

I'll add that I still have had no reply to my email concerning my leaking reservoir and I emailed them within hours of you Ken. :???: When did you get your initial response?

BTW, mine is leaking from the cap. It just started one day for no apparent reason, I hadn't done any maintenance or removed the cap, hadn't touched the reservoir. One day it didn't leak, the next it did.

Captain_Rat,

Agree with you to some extent, but yet they could have brushed me off, left me hanging and said oh well it's your problem not ours. At least they are doing something to rectify the matter. Also, I know of quite a few members on here who have purchased their product so I'm not sure where your getting only 2 people have purchased them.

Now on the other hand...........BLS3 and beers2u have not had the same luck. Hey guys, I used my original receipt email from Feb 2005 and replied to it with my situation. The email I got back was from Rich Matthews but, it was from a different email addy then the hooligan web site email. Try this email and see if you can get a response and maybe some better customer service: rmatthew@san.rr.com. You might want to let them know that their company/name are being posted on forums and their reputation (at least here) is being effected.

I am really hoping they do something to reconcile your situations. A defective product is a defective product and as such, at least IMO, a company should back their product and in cases such as these (i.e. pricey product, safety concerns regarding brake performance etc....) the company should do something to handle the situation amicably and resolve the issue.

Let us know how you guys come out....Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

Ken

I ordered a Rizoma fluid reservoir. I'm hoping the quality is comparable to my mirrors. Considering I got it for $60ish on ebay brand new, I'm pleased so far.

Kuhlka,

Did yours have the side hose connection, or the down hose connection? I got one off of eBay with the down hose connection, but I'm not good at fabricating and so I can't figure out how to mount it.

Hose down. I'll post up pics after I get it mounted. Just ordered it the other day and am waiting for the package in the mail.
