After a few week riding the s3 I can agree it's made for twisty A roads but it's hard to ride with any satisfaction on minor ripply UK roads - even B roads. Motorways are tedious too cos of the blast.

On back roads I get caught in that zone where either I'm too slow, going bumpty bump, bump and cars want to pass or I go too quick and end up in some pretty marginal cornering situations.

But get her on a smoothish twisty and boy is she forgiven.

Its worth checking and adjusting the damping. My S3 rides the bumps better at higher speeds. I have set my damping to the handbook intermediate positions. Your damping may be set too hard.

Our roads in Colorado are pretty much ***** at best. I really haven't had too much issue with mine overall. I have mine set on the "firm" setting and wiegh about 90Kg. I'd get with a suspension guy and get the suspension dialed in. You might need to adjust preload, or get different spring rates. The problem you are describing has nothing to do with the bike as a whole, it's all suspension setup.

Ok Geoff and Rob thanks.

I got firm 1.5 on rebound and compression both the rear...... and 1.25 very firm on rebound and compression on the front. (100kg bodyweight).

Maybe I'll reduce these settings as they are harsh especially the front and tweak around a bit more.

I would definately get your suspension adjusted if you're having problems. Mine was just downright unpleasant on my roads(I live in the middle of nowhere, think 1.5 lane, no center line, rural country roads with more turns per mile than deals gap) when I first got it. Had a wera racer buddy of mine dial it in for me and now it's amazing. Sometimes I feel it's a bit too squishy on better roads but for me that's a trade off I'm willing to take to be able to tear up my roads every day.
