This story just gets better. Paid too much for something in the Hamptons did you? Why on earth did you take it from Manhattan all the way out to the Hamptons? You must have known the Hamptons is one of the most expensive places on earth. They wipe their ass with that type of money out there. Its actually a shorter trip to your favorite mechanic at Jack Trebours in NJ. Oh well, at least you can tell people that you had your import worked on out in the Hamptons. You're lucky you didn't get bent over for twice the amount.

Aldo,
I got to tell you each and every one of your comment in this thread is so useless and irrelevant that I wish you did stay out like you said you would after your second post.

Sorry man, that is not an opinion just a fact and I did not say it the first time, not the second time not the third, but at this point I thought you should know. I hope this helps you.

i had an st1100 with the oil window. Bike weighed a couple tons. The only way to read the level was to somehow balance the bike while squatting down next to it. It always felt like it was going to fall over and crush me.

mookieblaylock,
I guess a few of us have been in that awkward position ! what a stupid idea that oil "window". I could not even use the stand because the bike is not exactly straight when on it.

I basically entirely gave up on it, to be honest to concerned with the bike falling while attempting to take a look....it just does not work. I just get somebody else to help. But again, pretty pathetic that one needs two persons to check the oil !

yea, that's why i put my bike on both front and rear stand when changing the oil.

why don't you get one of your sons to stand it straight while you check?

ps- don't forget to get a replacement seal washer for the oil drain plug every time you change the oil.

yes Aldo you are right about the mechanic and I am sorry indeed.
I hope you accept my apologies, I did get frustrated with the other stuff about how expensive this or that is and other ***** you said ...... lets leave it at that, a difference in views or something along those lines.

guess what I do need a stand anyway since the one I had I left it at my garage and it disappeared, so I might as well get two. Which one do you use ?

No, my boys are still to young - I have used my wife, not that I trust her, but that one time I felt I was basically out of oil, that is all I had nearby !

By the way, a curiosity I have had forever, does the liquid for the brakes ever go down ?? I mean the one by the bars in the plastic container

best,
