2011 new style headlights lens crack

Noticed what appeared to be a 3 to 4 cm scratch on the rhs headlight lens. Closer investigation reveals it to be more of a crack in the plastic material.

There's no impact mark so I don't think it's down to flying debris from the road. Wonder if it's a fault in the material i.e. internal stress just letting go after many heating and cooling cycles from the headlight bulb.

The lens is still water tight after blasting with a hose so I'm not too concerned about it. If water does eventually get in I'll change it.

Does anyone know if the lens glass can be bought as a separate item from Triumph rather than a whole headlight unit?

Do you want to replace it yourself? WHY? you should defently do a claim, cause quite a few people had a crack on their bikes, including myslef, im still awaiting response from them, its quite frustrating, but in no shape or form i would pay for something which is clearly a manufacturing defect, and must be replaced under the warranty. I would take some pics today.

It's one crack, which possibly has lengthened when I checked it this morning. I'm going to get in touch with the dealer this week and push for a warranty claim.

Hi it appears that all 2011 model lights are going to be replaced ,my bike lights are getting replaced next week on warranty , and my triumph shop in frankfurt said they were in the middle of replacing all the lights on all the 2011 models and expect a recall from triumph in the next few weeks. i also had to replace the mid pipe on the exhaust after 2 weeks , because of heavy rust fixed on warranty ,also had engine problems the bike suffered from loss of power which took 3 weeks in the shop to fix turns out the exhaust was choked up , it has not been a good experience so far with this bike , its the first time in 5 triumphs i have owned i ever had a problem, looks like i am getting all of hem at once hope this will now be the end and i can get on and enjoy the best bike on the road at least in my opinion thats all for now...

Thanks for the info Speedup59, have you discussed this with your dealer re: warranty claim yet?
