My carbon fibre Triumph dealer supplied tank pad does not fit properly at the bottom.

What doesn't fit right? Is it the shape or something else? My carbon fiber Triumph pad fits my 05 S3 perfectly.

Mine fits very well, but you have to throw away the ***** double sided tape they supply and replace it with a better product. I found a very thin double sided tape with incredible strength at my hardware store......and it holds the pad flush against the tank all round. Don't let petrol get under it as it melts the glue on the tape.
The tape I used is Bear brand double sided tape. I don't know if this is an International brand or not.

My carbon fiber pad fits wll but not perfectly. The carbon weave is not very pliable and basically does what it wants. I lined mine up pricisely for fit before application. Their tape is not very good at all. I ended up supplementing it with a stronger 3M two-sided tape.

Nonetheless, after careful cleansing of all areas before application, softening the pad up with a hairdryer before application, and meticlulous fitment . . . .there is still some lifting at the top of the pad. It looks good, but not great.

Doesn't help that there are no application instruction whatsoever (except the ones found on this forum). not where to put the tape, the pad, nothing . . . . Fitment instruction should denitlely be included. Especially if it will affect how flush the pad sits.

Bottom Line: Fit and finish of triumph accessories still has a way to go.

Triumph CF tank pad fits neatly on my 2k model. I used self-adhesive velcro tape instead of the supplied stuff, so I can move it around to get the best fit.

Another advantage is I can remove it when waxing the bike, or stick it to my chin if I miss a shave.

I also threw away the included double sided tape. To address attachment, and concerns of the carbon fiber potentially scratching the tank when leaned on or flexed, I took the CF pad to a friend that owns an auto upholstery shop. He lined the backside with auto-grade carpeting which is soft and protects the tank from any sharp CF edges. Next, I picked up some 3M adhesive backed velcro and used the hook side to attach to the carpeting. Once I had an adequate number of strips, I peeled the backing tape and carefully positioned the pad before pressing down real hard. The nice thing about the velcro option is that I can remove the pad for cleaning.
