Went down to the local toro lawn mower dealership(which also happens to sell triumph motorcycles in a dark little corner) and I noticed the new s3 they had a couple of weeks ago had been sold. Being curious and whatnot I had to ask who the new owner was of the only new triple in town and to my dismay the answer was nationwide insurance. Turns out the guy totaled it in 6 days and it was sitting in the back a mangled heap of metal and plastic after being high sided. Apparrently the former owner was some 55 year old having a mid life crisis and decided to hop on a new triple after not having ridden a motorcycle in 30 years. Miraculously he came out of it with a broken bone or two but not too much worse for the wear. I was guessing it was just some kid but apparently the phenomenon has transferred over to our brand from harleys. guess I'll have to continue being the only hooligan in town.....

I've personally scheduled my mid life crisis for September, 2007.

I'm throwing a party!

The guy that bought number two 06 (out of four... I got three) left the dealer then evidently called them back wthin an hour to ask if they knew any good lawyers, he had been charged with felony speeding... 120 in a 45 zone... :hammer:

I've already had my mid life crisis, (I'm 53) and I gotta tell you, the whole experience is highly overrated.

This guy obviously subscribes to the Motoman theory of break in.......

That HAS to be the Triumph dealership in Lynchburg, VA, right? I used to ride through there occasionally while working. I stopped in a couple of times to check them out. I couldn't believe you had to wade through lawn mowers and edge trimmers to get to the bikes.

I'm in my 50's but I had sense enough not to start riding, after many years without being on a bike, on something like the S3. That guy should have bought the Softail and been happy posing, at least until he'd settled back into riding.

Will you be taking in the Brit Bike show in Leesburg on 10/2 ?

It becomes a felony once you go so far over the speed limit. Depends on the state. I think it is usually 20 over the limit.

I lost my license a while back for the same reason.
