couldnt you get around this by tuning your bike for torque instead of peak hp?

ie- a monster sprocket change tuning your [unrestricted] bhp down to 100hp, whilst raising your torque to 110 ft lbs? sounds like a fun theory to try out, no?

Thanks for the replies. No doubts over what to do next. I would guess that 100bhp at the wheel would be close to 130hp at the crank ?

Just heard from the dealer that the bike is has been delivered. Will pick it up next week. They say that it is just a remap to release the power and they will do it unofficially for a bottle of red. Think I'll leave it till she's run-in though.

I think that you lose around 3 to 5% between the crank and the wheel, a shaft would get you down about 10%....

I would expect to lose 3% between just between the final drive sprockets. Then more in the gearbox etc...

Any dyno fans out there that can enlighten us ?
