Yeah - Post some pics of the new undertail system!!! Hopefully it'll be able to bolt on to my '02 S3 so I don't have to mess around with a PowerMax/Black Widow set up!

this week's MCN alleges to show updates for 2005 Triumphs.
S3 will get triple underseat exhaust,147 bhp Daytona motor and new bodywork.that should keep everyone happy.Triumph are not daft and they know the triple engine is the bedrock of their range. Why do you think they went for 3 cylinders for the R3 ?
I would be amazed if Triumph did not continue to develop the triple. All that is happening is recognition that it is pointless to chase the Japs and the endless pursuit of horsepower.Who needs 180hp on the road?I have gone from S3 to RS to Daytona and now I know that even the Daytona is too much power for the road.Full acceleration in second gear is enough to lose your licence.
Still a great bike and the sound thru' the carbon can is reason enough to own one.

Maybe an S3 with a larger engine 1200cc to 1500.

Thats what I would want!

damn that sounds hot...
the only thing i wish my 02 s3 had is an under seat exhaust. damn damn.

actually i just looked at WindChill's MCN article. That underseat exhaust looks a bit bulky and unrefined. If the pic of that bike is accurate for what they roll out in 2005 then I'll be quite happy that I picked up my 02. I have NO need for more hp....

Top four on an 05 Triple?

1. Bar end mirrors. At 6'2" all I get to see is arms.
2. Rear hugger as standard fitting. Roads in New Zealand are gravel / grit infested.
3. A couple of flyscreen options - standard small and larger
4. A more comfortable seat - ruins a top riding position

And leave the tune the same - I love that midrange.

I agree on the standard fitment of the hugger...and the front mudguard extension too. Maybe a centerstand. And don't even think about changing the frame! In the end, I s'pose they've got 'er about right.

BTW, an underseat exhaust might be nice but I sure like all the room the 02-up bikes have under the rear seat.

Make the Rocket 3 engine the basis for a new bike where there is no frame to speak of.Beef up the shaft to make it the swing arm and create some new anti - dive front end. Make it handle like it never should and be able to eat the competition for breakfast....
Up the tune and give the bike either variable compression or make it a variable cylinder - so at low rpm it would perhaps run on one cylinder or for performance it would progressively go 1 2 3 such that all cylinders were providing force but as they come on use the redundant cylinders as superchargers for the other/s. Give us the wild and wacky.
maybe a 1000 wankel that puts out huge hp and looks like a smoke ring blower just as the Norton did! :hammer: YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
