1. This is the first bike I have owned with a digital temp. guage and like anything new I notice it. What temp do peoples S3's run at? My runs around 77 c when out on a run but hit the 20 mph section leading in to our estate and it quickly climbs to 82 c in under half a mile. If I then leave it ticking over on the drive while I open the garage the fan cuts in and stays on for about 5 minutes after the engine is off. Is this normal? or am I being paranoid?

2. As I said above this is the first bike with a digital dash and to be honest I would prefer an analogue temp and speedo. I knew at a quick glance that if my needle on my old suzuki was at 11 o'clock position I was doing 80, and that is all it took - a quick glance. maybe I am being picky but I think the digital speedo thing is a bit of a fashion gimmick and I would prefer guages that can be read easily especially at speed and in direct sunlight. any one else share my view?

1- Mine runs at 175F when it's moving.

2- No, I vastly prefer the digital speedo, although I've had an RS for the past 4 years with the same setup, so I'm used to it. I now HATE analogue speedo's.

I was used to analogue guages too, and it took a while to warm up to the new S3's speedometer/tempguage/tripmeter/clock etc. setup. But now I love it.

I *do* think that the tach must be analogue however as it's readings change way more frequently, and it is easier to read analogue than digital in that case. My bike warms up to about 100c if left to idle, and when underway it runs at about 79c.

Picked up my bike on saturday and rode for about 4 hours. Usually ran at around 186F, but as I got closer to the city, and had more traffic, the temp started to rise to the point where it was occasionally at 218F.
I'm keeping a close eye on it, but as the next weekend is forecast for more rain, it looks like I'll only have a couple of nights this week to put it through the paces and get some more ideas on temp. readings.
I do love the digital readout though. I find that i usually worry about temp when i'm in traffic and stopped, so it's never a problem to take a look at it read out the full amount while at least one foot is firmly planted.

My 02 Speed Triple usually runs between 82 and 90 moving and moves up to 103 c when stationery at which time the fan usually kicks in. I think as long as it stays within those normal operating parameters you shouldn't worry.

Sorry I should have said as long as it stays within "your" normal operating parameters.
