I didn't think that thru. I'll try to find some very slim OE style connectors for sub and accessory harnesses. But in general I'll be hiding as much as I can.

I would suggest to leave the Key-Switch connector on main harness intact and just connect to that. It is a Yazaki CN(A) .250” Series Connector



Then one of my favourites for interconnects is Sumitomo MT Series - very compact.

For relays, either use the Panasonics (like mine) or Micro Relays
The Panasonics will probably take least space incl the sockets.

Great thread!! I stumbled upon it, started reading and immediately thought that instead of buying my Scorpio alarm I should have got a Sombra. Then I kept reading and saw it being hooked into a Scorpio!

I have the i800 though, not the i1100. But it has the RFID and uses the same immobiliser and wiring hardness as the i1100, so I assume that will all work fine?

The second question I have is that the manual states that for normal use, the key should be used to shut the bike off, not the kill switch (or kick stand in gear, I presume). Has anyone experienced any issues with using the kill instead of key (does using the key shutdown the ignition or injection systems cleanly??)

And lastly.. I have also added an aFlasher to flash the dash LED. Would be great to be able to utilise the on-board LED instead of an aftermarket one. It is only one colour - maybe flash it at a faster rate when the ignition is ready.

Whole discussion on that in the Street forum.
Bottom line there is no detriment in shutting off engine using the Kill
The manual recommends (not insists) that the Key-Switch be used because using the Kill leaves the ancillary circuits powered.

However moot since using this KeyLess system is just like using the key - although you are turning off the Kill switch, it drops the whole power, just like key-off.

The Scorpio unit did not utilize the LED - there is no 'ready' (disarmed) signal with the Scorpio that I could use

Correct with the Scorpio alarm - Ecliptech's aFlasher unit just replaces the factory supplied loopback connector, and enables the alarm flasher whenever the ignition is turned off. I was merely stating it would be nice to repurpose the aFlasher to enable the flasher based on the actual alarm status.

Mine is a 2012 model, so will have the issue with the connector. But I suppose it is always possible remove both sides of the factory connector and replace with one that is more readily available, thus keeping the ability to remove the keyless start.

Having said that, I tried to follow the wires to find where the connector is, and for the life of me couldn't figure it out. I followed it to behind the small triangular shaped vent that fits in the frame triangle between the fuel tank and the radiator cowl, but couldn't figure out how to take out the vent plastic without risking breaking something.

I was talking about my mod for the Scorpio - I did not utilize the alarm LED for that system because unlike the Sombra there is no 'disarmed' state external signal.
- it is only internal to the module that it recognizes the transmitter proximity and the system actually only disarms when you power on.

A couple of guys are going to diy this

Here are some things that will help











I remove the two door relays off the board (this gives more space to install the control board) - you can then use that terminal strip to interface to the power relay and clutch switch (you may not have to cut traces if you remove the relays and select three terminals that are not connected to anything else on the board)

I also remove those spade terminals - you don't have to, I just get rid of them.

Then all the interconnects are shown - note that you feed the original Sombra LED wires over to the alarm connector and you will have to cut one of the terminals off the board to create a 'free' terminal to connect over to the immobilizer cut relay.

The red (const power) input and the two lamp outputs are fused

On alarm connector, wire as per the master diagram - needs 3-5 jumper in place as per the OEM bypass - the 1-2 connection will be the immobilizer circuit off the alarm.

Och, so thrilled am I to have pulled out all of my alarm wiring the other evening in pursuit of a wiring harness diet. And now I see this .

Though it does make me realize I have conflicting desires of simplicity vs SUPER GEEK PROPELLER-HAT FEATURES.

So probably I will implement a solution that is closer to your rev 1, but hopefully with the fob-in-pocket convenience. Time to study up.

BTW, love all the posts and the well-drawn wiring diagrams. Hardware is my business, so you're speaking to me.

And therein lies the rub - that is why I went to the Rev2 (or part deux! )

The actual latching relay system is same on both - the transmitter/receiver is what is different - and with that comes the associated hands-free range.
Be interested to see what else you can find - not too much out there that is cost-effective.
