I paid about $145ish USD I think.
I try not to keep tabs on the cost of my 2 wheeled addiction.

Thanks for the feedback. Oddly enough my wife says that the most comfortable bike she has riden on that I have owned was a Softail Custom in which I had the rear pegs mounted on the UPPER frame mounting bolt (She is 5 foot 2). Stock has the peg on the lower bolt. She also liked to be able to see over me a bit since she sat higher in the stock king/queen seat. She can't do that now with the Bonneville. I have had everything from a Sportster, Tirumph Trophy to BMW K1150RT, and she always goes back to the FXSTC seating position.

Soooo....based on the grab rail being available it looks like I am OK. So it is off the dealer!

Ya know, a kick a$$ combo would be the Gel seat option (245.00) fitted with the rear grab bar, then you could simply swap seats when riding two-up. This would be especially cool for me as I have the rear seat cowl... Then you wouldn't have to have the handle on the bike all the time... :-D

I'm currently in the middle of designing some mounts to drastically lower the passenger footpegs to something that a real person could comfortably use. I'll post pics of 'em when I'm done.

Last question - how does it interfere with the release-the-seat-with-a-screwdriver-because-the-stock-release-doesn't-work trick (just learned that recently... )?

The trick with the rear seat is to push it down right over the latch. Works for me, putting it on is the same, gotta press it down right on top of the latch.

I put two thin washers underneath the locking mechanism which raised it and makes the latch much easier to operate.

Did the same thing on my Daytona with the exact same latch.
