This is fresh from my welding bench. I nicked the idea off of Abba stand and just made a few practical improvements.
It lugs into the hollow of the swinging arm pivot and then you simply hoist the bike forwards and upwards onto the stand. Leverage is provided by a regular DIY car jack pump handle.
The metal was bought for £3 from a scrappy. I guess a welder would charge about £10 to weld all the precut lengths (hacksaw) for you. Pivot is an old bike front spindle and a 12 mm threaded bar on the other side. A .303 shell case cut in half is lodged on the turned down end to protect the allen socket on the right hand side.
It's too hot to handle at the minute but I'd be happy to measure / sketch it up for anyone who wants to copy it themselves.
