Does anyone know who can service Triumph (Speed Triple) in Manhattan ? I can't believe I got to go to NJ (the only dealer now that I know of) for every thing I need (which they know and charge you accordingly). Not to mention $70+ when they come to pick up the bike !! And, to what extent do we need a mechanic to be at a Triumph dealer shop ? I know they need to have that piece of electronics though... Anyway, any suggestion ? I love this bike but for this reason alone I might just as well get rid of it.

hey wind,
i'm in manhattan and it looks like i'm about to buy a '01 s3. I was down at BMW NYC on West and they have a coupla Triumphs for sale and they do work on Triumphs. As I haven't taken a bike there yet, I can't vouch for quality.
If you'd like a more scenic ride, the dealership in Southampton would be quite a nice ride out on LI.
I'll post a manhattan thread here when the bike arrives so we can compare mods in downtown someday..

hey, congrats on your new bike. Great choice
As to the mechanics, I am afraid the BMW place downtown is not "authorized" not that I care so much but I doubt he has the electronic tool for the triumph (I guess this would be a problem, or am I wrong).
Yes the Southampton place is interesting also, especially for the summer when I hope I will spend some time there. For now I decided to stick with my old place, now in NJ. I think they are a bit expensive though, and I have to pay $75 for the pick-up and delivery of the bike, which does not sound outrageous in itself, but I wish I could avoid it.
