Hi all,

Just picked up my 06 this evening (black). What a machine!! Beautiful to look at and tough to boot. Put the fly screen on... Actually really like it!! and did the CRG bar ends. Can't wait to get her broken in. Had to take a short tour around the neighborhood!!

Interesting, I've been riding an 82 Yamaha XV550 for a bit now and this S3 is every bit easier to ride than the Yamaha. The bike just wants to do everything well!!

It's already tough to keep it under the 3500 RPM's for the first 100!! :-D

I'll post pics tomorrow!

Here is a shot. Not great, but doable!!

First impressions: No worries around town, pretty tame really if you let it be... BUT... Patience needs to be a big part of this break in!! I get to bump it to 5000 very soon!

Where'd you find the '06? My dealer still has no clue when he's going to see em.

Yeah, well the Texas dealers are like "06? They make em? We should see em in February I suppose".

They don't even have them on their site yet. What are the diffs between the 05 and 06?

Keep in mind if you slip the clutch giving that bike any gas at all, the front end WILL come up. Same thing with power wheelies except a little more effort and a little wiggle of the throttle is required. But, I have to say the S3 is any incredibly balanced and fun bike to wheelie. I haven't had anywhere near as much side-to-side wiggle as my buddy on his GSXR1000. Hell, my fiance's 05 Sprint ST will wheelie with little trouble, lol.

No doubt about this thing being a wheelie monster!! I've managed to keep it on the deck so far!! :-D

My dealer is Erico in Denver. Highest sales in the states... There were four to be delivered, I got #2. The other two are due in a couple of weeks. As far as I know a dealer in Wisconsin (don't remember the name) has/had a new 06 as well. These are the black ones at this point, don't know about the other colors.

Interestingly, the dealer in town here (Colorado Springs) couldn't even tell me if they would be able to get one at all. They are pretty small in the Triumph dept though. Basically, it sounds like the 06's are in "waiting list" only mode at this point from what I gather. If the highest selling dealer in the states is only getting four black ones, must mean not a lot are getting put out???

Looks like the 06 is the same as 05. I rode an 05 for the demo, and the gear box on mine shifts/feels MUCH better. Maybe just a fluke, or perception. Anyway, I love this thing and I just ticked 100 miles, engine is getting noticably smoother and the "whine" is getting more "tuned", I get to boost the RPMs up to 5000 for awhile!!

So ... what, if any, differences between the 05 and 06?

The exhausts on mine are all stainless - although I see Triumph sell stainless replacement cans. Are early 05's fitted with mild steel cans?

I asked Triumph on Friday what the difference is. Answer Non.

New colour scheme in White; maybe dropping the Blue !!!!
