'02 S3 error code help - P0462

"P0462 fuel level sensor circuit low input"

This is the second time the tuneboy has given me this error code. It always happens after I fuel up. The engine light comes on and stays on until I turn it off with the tuneboy. Any ideas?

I am not too proficient on the DTC's, but according to the manual you will need 40 no-fault cycles before the DTC is erased. It also says if the fault is an emissions related fault or a "serious" malfunction a DTC will be logged. But on the chart it indicates that the MIL (Malfunction indicator lamp) does not illuminate when the fault in question (P0462) is logged. So not quite sure why your engine light comes on.............

Not sure if any of that helps (I doubt it does) but, if it were me, I would contact a dealer/service tech and inquire within. But of course you have to be able to trust that they will give you "sound" advice and not just try to get you in their shop to make a buck.

Maybe some of the others on this board are more knowledgeable on this................Anyone???? I'm interested to hear how you go about dealing with it (on your own) and what you have to do to correct it without having to take it in to a mechanic (if that is possible).

I Had that code on my '03, same thing. I cleared it with the TuneBoy and it never came back. But the light was definately on even though the manual said that code shouldn't trigger it. It only happened once to me though.
