Hey guys,

I'm looking to upgrade from my '02 TT600 to something more powerful and a little less extreme in the ergonomic department. Therefore, I have a couple questions. I haven't sat on one in a while or ridden one at all, but my dealer has one that I will probably go see this week.

1. How much different are the ergos? I know it has a tubular bar rather than clip-ons. How does this affect riding position and how is the peg placement?

2. How is the wind blast at highway speed? Is the accessory fly screen effective enough to make a difference?

3. How comfortable is it for longer rides? I'm not talking about cross country touring, but say a 200 mile ride? Is the seat a plank like on my TT? Is the gel seat any better?

Any other info you guys can provide would be great.

Thanks,
Schmitty

If you regularly want to take a passenger that isn't midget then I'd choose something a little less extreme.

Electrics seem susceptible to water ingress. Both my main beam and the oil pressure light are switched on by rain.

1. I don't know anything about the TT600 but the S3 was taller than my SV. I have a 30 in inseam so I'm a bit on my tip toes. The handle bars are wider than the SV and that took me a little while to get used to.

2. I've had no problems with wind blasts at speeds up to about 90 mph on the S3. I'm 5ft8in. I think the instrument panel helps block the wind fairly ok.

3. The seat is fine for long rides. The first thing I replaced on my SV was the seat but I have no problems with the seat on the S3 (I have 9500 miles on it since April). I've done consecutive 450 mile days on it with no huge discomfort.
