05 S3 insurance very high around $1000 per annum. My other bikes quite reasonable through Foremost.
Anybody got any suggestions about alternative Insurance Companies in the USA?

Yes, but no magic answers. You may have to shop many companies to find one that will treat you reasonably, because the insurance business is, well, mostly voodoo. I had one quote for my S3 as low as $179 and one that was fully ten times as much...same bike, same driver, same location. (The company that quoted $179 didn't have the Speed Triple in their computer, so that was just a guess on their part. I checked back with them later and it was much higher.)

Here are some motorcycle insurers to try: Dairyland/Sentry (my most recent insurer; but slow customer service these days), Progressive (they'll soak you if you don't own your home, however), GEICO (no two quotes the same), State Farm, Safeco (the latter two are good if your car is insured with them also).

when i got my 05 S3, i had quotes from $2000 to $150 per year. i ended up with state farm for ~$600.00 a year, good insurance and "i saved a ton of money on my car insurance" not to quote a horrible geico tv ad.

I'm paying around $1200 with progressive, but only because State Farm and a few other insurance companies won't insure me due to a suspension for speeding tickets from 3 years ago. They've got a long list of things on their website that automatically deny you coverage with them in their automated quote software.
