Is The Street R Better Than The Speed 1055

HI all does hope all is well is good MY NAME IS DOYLER any body feel the only fault with the 1050 that you cant go fast on it for long because of the wind noise ,and its to heavy i just traded my street r with a nose faring and screen for a the new se red and white it looks great but does not deliver the complete package , i was able to run at 200 km in the street , i am in germany but i am IRISH where speed is up to you mostly have the same screen that was in my street r and it unbearable and its does not make a difference , i have had ,believe it or not ,2 triple 1050's loved this bike before but because of crashes or other which were not fault end up changing to street r but now feel that the street r is a better bike for more of the time and it handles a lot better WHAT YA THINK

As someone who has owned and enjoyed both, I can't say one is "better" than the other without qualifying the response with a lot of "for what purpose." For instance, as fantastically quickly as the Speed will get you going fast, how long do you really need to keep going that fast to feel satisfied? The Street is a little nimbler under some circumstances, and the Speed handles more elegantly under others. Wish I could have kept both.

With that said, I shall now withdraw and leave you to the mercies of my former Speed brethren....

I spend a lot of time on my Speed at highway speeds (120-130kph) here, and I actually don't find the wind blast to be that disturbing. I worried about that before I bought the bike, but I just became accustomed to it and now I kind of forget I'm on a naked bike.

I got to ride a Street Triple R for a day while I got my S3 serviced. The biggest difference to me was the difference in torque. Not surprisingly, the S3's torque makes riding it effortless. The Street needs to be revved a lot to get it moving as quickly as the S3 but it goes VERY quickly when you do. The Street is fantastically light and I would imagine this would pay huge dividends in the twisties but then again, you would probably be shifting a bit more to keep in the meat of the powerband. Personally, I prefer the comparatively infinite torque of the S3 over the Street. My 2¢.

People that buy a naked bike and then complain about wind noise and turbulence need to grow a pair.

Or give me their bike

If you like the Street Triple R because it's lighter and handles better, then might as well get the Daytona 675. The 09+ Daytona is even lighter and handles better.

Nothing makes it a more rounded bike, unless the advantages it offers are ones you happen to need. Other people have different criteria, and for them the S3 meets more of those.

Difference in price? That's partly because the S3 has a much bigger engine, and partly because of the sexy single-swingarm rear suspension, which has to be built heavier to do the job.

You may think naked is naked, but there's more to it than that.

I thought the Street Triple R was the best bike I've ridden in 20years - it screams fun, handles on a dime. However I own the S3 because it is more stable 2-up, can do all jobs for me, and is iconic. Also I can shift around without unsettling the bike, but it does need a bit of bar pressure in the twisties, whereas the Street had a telepathic link!!

The rear footrest hangers around the pipes look ugly to me on the Street, and lots of other similar touches, including colour of tacho graphic are not nice to my eye. The S3 looks fabulous in jet black in my garage.

Given the money :
I'd have Street with seat cowl, arrows, and no hangers (if they did it in RED)
black Rocket Roadster
and my black S3

I'm too scared to own the 675 Daytona !!
