Hey anyone ever experience this with thier S3. Never happend to me before. Pulled her into the garage, fan was on, shut her off (with the key........I never use the kill switch) and as i was getting off the bike I realized the fan was still running. I waited (about 2-3 minutes) and it kept running, so I turned the key back to the on position and the fan shut off.

Was wondering........ if I didn't notice the fan still running (AS IF) would the fan just have continued to run??? :???:

I have shut her off a many times with the fan running and as soon I turn the key to off, normally the fan goes off too.

Maybe just a glitch..................

My S3's fan runs until the the fan shut-off temp is reached. This occurs with key on or key off. Pretty sure that is the intended design.

Mine as well. And several of my cars have been designed this way too.

Yep mine also - it will run until it's cooled down. Incidentally, the other day the wife asked if there was something wrong with the bike because the fan was still running - I told her that it means the engine is waring down and I'll need a new bike as a back up just in case. Needless to say, she didn't go for it.

SLAPSHOT,

^5 for the effort with the wife.........at least you tried.

My fan usually comes on at 103 celcius. I guess I should have given it a little more time to cool down. Just seemed odd to me since it had never happened before and i thought I gave it enough time to cool down since the fan had just come on.......live and learn.... :hammer:

As always, thanks for the responses guys!!!!!!!!

Used to happen ALL THE TIME with my '00 RS but I don't think it has ever happened on my '04 S3 though I'm sure it is normal as everyone else has said. The RS also ran 10 degrees (F) hotter. :???:
