Sometimes (I think it's happend 4 times so far in 1000 km's)
when I'm going from 5:th to 6:th gear I end up somewhere in between in a very uncomfortable neutral. Uncomfortable cause it's A. Not what I expected and B. it sounds bad with the gears crunching in to each other.

Is this a common error or is it me doing somthing wrong?
Anyone else experiencing this?

I've had this experience also any times, but also between 4th and 5th gear.
Even in a race in a fast corner a had this "false neutral" and believe me, I didn't like the bike at that time
I've learned to use more force for shifting gears, than you can feel that the movement of the gearlever has two phases. First a small movement and after that you feel the click of the gear-change.
(I hope my English is clear enough to understand)

I'm not sure what the reason is :???:

I understand you a lot better than I would have done if you'd written in ducth I'll tell you that. :-D
Come to think of it I now remember having this happening with my old YZF 750 a few times as well so I guess I'm the problem rather than the bike. Sloppy gearshifting I guess. I'll try to focus on using more force when shifting in the future.

I get 'false neutral' occasionally, mostly between 5th and 6th. I think it is at it's worst when the bike is in need of an oil change...

Same problem here too!.Between 5th and 6th. Doesn't matter if it's a clutched or clutchless shift. I wondered if it was down to the engine oil as well. It was last serviced by a non Triumph dealership just before i bought it. Although they were once a Triumph outlet i doubt they used that recommended Mobil grade of oil...... :hammer:

I've noticed that the shift to 6th is decidedly different than the other shifts. I just figured it was an indicator that you have shifted into the last gear. I haven't gotten any false neutrals, though - I always shift forcibly.

Amen. Once was enough to remind me to shift firmly.

So the drunks will have a place to stop driving?

I've had similar problems between 5th and 6th - an occasional dragging sensation. Although I don't get a false neutral so much as a feeling that gears are only just engaged (and driven) and would pop into 'neutral' if I didn't shift down and up again pretty swiftly..
