Excessive Residue on Arrow Baffles

Removed the baffles today and notice quite a bit of residue on them, considering the slip-on was only installed about a month ago with less than 800km, is it normal?

No, it's not normal to ride with the baffles in for a month.

Yes, the soot is normal if you have the Arrow dual tune installed to the ECU. The tune is richer on purpose to match the free flowing cans. If you keep the baffles in the cans flow as bad as stock exhaust.
If your oil level is not dropping and you don't get blue puffs of smoke from the exhaust, I would not worry about it too much.

Thanks Martin! You got me worried for a moment

Not sure what the Arrow dual tune is but the slip-on was installed by a dealer so I hope they've done the right thing and installed what's necessary.

Yes, the sound is amazing! The YouTube video doesn't do it justice and it has to be heard to believe. Can't wait to go for a ride (it was raining so I only started the engine and sat on it but didn't go out).

Don't worry about it, mine are the same with the baffles in.
Long trips w/ them out tend to make my ears ring even wearing ear plugs.....so I tend to switch back and forth, thats why I love my Arrows.
Currently running with them out, and it still gets a little residue at the tip.

The baffles go back in?

Never used mine, they came out when the cans were fitted and became garage ornaments
Seriously, they're not that loud are they?

"The baffles go back in?"

Your kidding right?
Duel Arrows have a clip holding the baffles in place. Couple seconds to switch back and forth.

Bike may be running a bit rich. I know my bike runs rich because the previous owner ditched the O2 sensor and the bike's ECU no longer leans out the fuel mapping.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Running rich is safe. It's running lean that you have to worry about.

Thought the last line of my post would have clarified. Sarcasm is sometimes lost in translation.
They are not excessively loud with the baffles out, so I never bothered putting them back in!. Not loud enought to annoy the neighbours.
